The Best Boudoir Outfits For A Boudoir Shoot

“What is the Best Boudoir Outfit for my sessions?”

One of the number one things I am asked about is “What do I wear for my Boudoir Session?” or more importantly “What is the Best Boudoir Outfit for my sessions?” Let’s face it, we all want to wear something that is flattering, don’t we? I know I want to! Sessions with me do come with access to my full lingerie closet but sometimes, ladies like to bring their own and that’s totally fine.

Below I will go over the best things to look for when picking out the best boudoir outfits for your session. Choose at least one bra and panty set. Be sure to try on items to make sure they have a proper fit before your session. So before we get started – PRO TIP: My best advice is to try everything on because it could be too big or too small.

1. Variety: don’t get just the same set of lingerie in different colors. Make sure to add some variety. I always offer a body suit to each client along with a two-piece matching set. And of course, an oversize tank-top or sweater looks amazing, too.
2. Something of theirs: look around your significant other’s closet, nothing looks sexier than your SO seeing you in something of theirs. Plus, if it’s oversized, it looks even better 😉
3. Bring in the color: Everyone always thinks “black is flattering” and just gets only that color – that’s boring! Grab some colors that pop like red or any kind of jewel tones (these are my favorite because they complement skin tone so nicely)!
4. Something Trendy: Sheer strappy lingerie is the trend this year and is not only sexy but can be super-steamy for photos. If you do not already own one be sure to purchase one for your shoot. Off the shoulders, blouses are also on trend and will look great with a thong panty.
5. Legs, legs, legs: Almost every woman brings fishnets and/or thigh highs with her to her session. Be sure to bring at least one pair of closed-toe heels to wear with your stockings. PRO TIP: If you plan to wear them with a garter belt, buy the kind without the plastic stay-ups. If you plan to not wear a garter then the plastic stay-ups are a must.
